8 Way to Scare off a Telemarketer

Someone called this morning and asked me if I had 2 minutes to spare her for some dumb survey. Then I remembered this I got from an email. To bad I forgot about it during the phone call lol.... =S

  1. Ask him to talk v-e-r-y slooooowly, because you want to write down EVERY WORD he says.
  2. After he finishes saying all his marketing crap, tell him he must marry you first, before you sign on. When he acts all surprised, say, "What, you expect me to give my credit card details to a complete stranger, meh?"
  3. When he introduces himself (e.g. "Sammy"), immediately say, "Wah piang eh! Sammy! Long time no see, man! How are you! Are you still living in that old place?" This should stun Sammy for a while, as he scrambles to remember where he might know you from.
  4. If he says he's, e.g. Tan Ah Seng from ABC Pte Ltd, ask him to spell his name. Then ask him to spell the company name. Then ask him where it's located. Continue asking him personal questions or questions about the company for as long as you feel like it.
  5. Insist the caller is actually your friend Benny, playing a joke. "Eh, Benny, dun lai dat leh! Stop playing the fool! Seriously lah, Benny, how's your mother, ah? Is she out of the hospital yet?" Etc, etc.
  6. After he finishes his pitch, say in a very creepy voice, "Thank you for calling me. I don't have many friends… do you want to be my friend?"
  7. If he asks, "How are you?" Tell him! "Wah lau, siong, man! Got so many problems. My fish all died, lah, then my mother and father had this big argument until neighbours call police all, and then lagi worse, donno why, but my crotch whole day was very itchy, so I went to the clinic and then…" Continue till he hangs up.
  8. Tell him you're busy at the moment, and ask him for his HOME number so you can call him back. He'll try to give his office number, but insist on his HOME NUMBER. When he says he can't give his HOME NUMBER, ask him, "You dowan some funny stranger calling you up at home and disturbing you, is it?" He will agree and say, "Then now you know how I feel!" And then say goodbye and hang up.

heheh

Form 1 Drumcircle

Thursday .... Day before last day of school.

Todays exams were Sejarah and Siviks. Sejarah was surprisingly more understandable than last term. Hope I pass. Can't fail another term. That would be sad.... =S
During siviks dad came to school. Well... first I saw a big circle made up of chairs in the badminton court. Then I saw a bunch of Form 1 boys carrying the Festival Djembes, mallet and percussion box... so on. Everyone in class was like "ey... thats Rhonwyns father, ah?".

Dad tried to pull me out of class to help set the drums but I couldn't. So when the bell rang I dashed out with my bag and helped with the mallets. The mallets are always my job... =P Everyone was looking at this big circle of drums... apa ini??

Crystal they all were like "oh Rhonwyn... is this drumcircle for us??" "nope for the Form 1's" Poor Crystal... she got mad. Don't worry. We'll have a drumcircle for the choir A.S.A.P after school reopens. Depends on Mr. Eugene. I would love to do one for the teachers. That would be AWESOME!!

Anyway lets just get to the circle. Our first batch was 1 Amanah and 1 Jujur. They were good. When the rythm got of track they started again and me and dad didn't even need to go into the circle to get the rythm back on track.

2nd group was .... 1 Bersih and 1 Tekun. They were also the same as Amanah and Jujur... good players and when they got off track they got back on track by themselves. Some of the players in this group were really hard players though. Some even used the sticks for the Djembes so I had to stop them or the drum will get a dent... don't wan't THAT to happen now, do we?

1 Gigih and 1 Rajin was our last group. Unlike the first two batches, when these guys went off track they stayed off track. When either me or dad went into the circle the automatically went back on track. Amazing. There was a Indian boy who played REALLY hard, the poor drum. Dad saw and he went up to the boy and gave him a warning. Then he started playing hard again. Dad gave another warning and he wouldn't listen. Finally dad took the boy and put him on one of the percussion bells. A toy thing. Lol... he asked for it.

Our last group was last minute. Mr Eugene said that we could squeeze them in. 1 Adil and Peralihan. This was the best group. Don't know why... but they were the best. I put Wayne and Marcus on the Bahia Bass Drums. They had fun. Dad did some facilitating things that I haven't seen him do in a while. The last group helped us to clean up. They put their percussion in one of the nesting drums turned upside down and their mallets in another one.

Matthaeus, Ronald, Marcus and Junmey helped put everything together. Then the 6 of us started our own little circle. I didn't know that Ronald could play the drums. He was really good. We had fun. Mr Eugene invited me and dad to eat something in the teachers lounge. It was Fusion food, I think. Didn't exaclty know what it was.

Can't forget pics.

Watching the fun from outside... sad

Sarawak trip ringkasan

Lols... I abandoned my blog for a few days haven't I? Well... sorry about that.
I wouldv'e blogged everyday if there was internet connection here in Mulu, Sarawak. Yes... for all you people who didn't know or I didn't tell, I'm in Sarawak, DURING EXAMS!! xD

Hehe. So in Mulu there was no connection at all. No handphone signal 'cause we were like... in the middle of all these beautiful mountains. But my stay in Mulu lasted only four days. Then we flew to Miri, which takes 1 day from Mulu to Miri by boat, 10 hours from Mulu to Miri by car and 30 minutes from Mulu to Miri by plane. And here in Miri I got my handphone signal back and free Wi-fi in the hotel lobby, but no beautiful mountains and kind staff people like in Mulu. Mulu was awsome. Me and my mom went caving... we saw 3 out of 4 caves. Clearwater cave, Lang cave and Wind cave. We didn't see the Deer cave which had the biggest passageway for a cave in the world. We also watched the bats fly out from the Deer cave in one snakey line which was amazing.
Every night in Mulu at the resort there was a bamboo dance and blowpipe demo. I loved the bamboo dance. I danced every night! Hehe.
We also took a 1 and a half hour boat ride on our last day in Mulu. I picked up a lot of nice stones. Anyone want one? They're nice!!
To YeeFern: If you are reading this, just to let you know I found what you asked for. Skull heads. xD You'll see when you get them..
Now in Miri and there's not really much to see. Its almost like KL but without tolls, traffic jam, perompak cases, and the huge huge buildings.
I'm gonna be back on Tuesday night, so when I get back to school I'll continue the exams I missed. I don't know what am I gonna do here in Mulu... There's a meuseum about the history of petrol that I think sounds really interesting. Might help in Geo... who knows!! Oh and BTW... the hotel in Miri is on Jalan Brooke. To all students who are Form 2 and above... does Jalan Brooke ring a bell??
Clue: Sejarah text book Tingkatan 2.

Will upload some Miri and Mulu pics when I get home.
Ciao!

Right... And I think... that as long as I am here in SMKBU, at least one Form 1 each year.. or any new student would ask me "Do you speak Malay??" Some smart question to be asking a student where the main language IS Malay, right? Its so farneeeeeeee.....

Coconut Trees

I'm on Photography duty this week!!

Yay??

Lols. Not much photo's to take nowadays. Unless theres a occation in school its point-less bringing your camera. My class used to be like "Oh wow! Rhonwyn brought her camera to school today! Lets go ask her to take out picture!!". Hah... no more liao... everyone got sick of having their picture taken. They see their picture once on my camera and don't care about it anymore.

Some of the pictures I'm gonna use to make that class video me and Shahidan were gonna do. And probably print some out and stick them in my masterpiece-in-making. The main masterpiece of the masterpiece-in-making will come alive when we get our class photos... Heheheheheh....... Thats when I do the evil work. xD

Pn. Raspal retired last week. And for the whole week we didn't have any new science teacher come in. At first we were all soooooo soooo sure it was either gonna be Cik Salawati or Pn. Fardiah. But we give them to much stress already. Who knows? Maybe some teacher DID ask Cik S or Pn. F if they wanna teach us science. And their reaction would be like " 2 BERSIH??"

*faints*

During perhimpunan today they announced the arrival of the new batch of young 20-something year old teachers in University... 2 of them were these cute Chinese teachers.... around my height. Or maybe I'm taller because they wear high-heels.

What happened in this picture? No, I'm not dodging the camera. Crytal took this during pehimpunan. And the reason why my hand is like that was because I knew the flash was on... and if any teachers saw the flash... I'm D.E.D. Good thing no one saw, or cared. It loooked like it was gonna rain then anyway. Probably the teachers thought "Oh, I saw lightning, looks like its gonna rain!"

And our new science teacherrrrrrrrrrrr.... rawr.

Miss Lim =D One of the new UNIcorn (University lahhhhhhh) teachers.

Shes cute. haha. I don't know if shes a good science teacher yet. We only had one class together today.

Me and Brian wanted to ask her if she could speak Chinese. Brian asked during class.

Miss Lim, can you speak Chinese?

Only after classes.

?

After class I asked her.

Miss Lim, can you speak Chinese?

Yes.

Pn.Raspal told us before she retired not to bully the new teachers. Well.... most did. I didn't. =D

All the Chinese boys in 2 Bersih sat on one table. All the Malay students on one table. Naga and Jaya moved to my table. The Indian girls who sat at the back moved one table up and the rest sat at their original places. Miss Lim pronounces Centipede as Centiped. She says that's theirs the British way of saying it and they American way. Centiped is British...which we follow. I dunno... Which one is correct? Centipede or Centiped.

Drumcircle @ Monfort Annual carnival '08

Whats a carnival without a drumcicle???

Yeap... 4.5.08 was Monfort Boys Town annual carnival. Dad and me, along with cousin Didi went. We reached at about 12. Unloaded the drums. Then we sat down and waited...

and waited

and waited

and waited.

By 1. pm dad went to look for our guy Haikal. Found him finally and some guys brought out chairs and we set up the circle!

At 2 we begun the circle which lasted for an hour and a half. One family came early and asked if we needed any help in setting the circle. Nice of them to offer, huh? They came for last years drumcircle at the same carnival.
