My 2008 JU Review

After getting the 2008 edition of JU, I took the time to sit down and read every single page (interesting and with pictures XD No speeches.)

There's a lot to be said about this edition of JU, both positive and negative.

I'd like to congrats the whole JU gang for doing well in this edition of the yearly school magazine. All of you have contributed your stuff and the end result is that magazine you have all received this week. =)

Firstly I'd like to say that the 2008 year magazine is a lot better than 2007's. '07 lacked one important thing, content. Candid shots was only a page, and the cover I thought wasn't that outstanding.

Being apart of JU made me notice more things in the magazine. And thats what this post is about.

'08 had a lot of content, including teachers candid page, 2 students candid pages, photoshoot candid, Form 5 pool and there were also a lot of articles this year, especially from the Bahasa Tamil area... '07 had less Bahasa Tamil articles... and Mandarin articles still remain the same amount... To Chinese Society: More articles for '09 please.

'08 also had some really funny candid shots, some of them which I took. XD Sorry being perasan. I'm glad they put a lot of my best pictures in the magazine. My picture in the Editorial Board page was quite hilarious. I was smiling putting on my sunglasses... Taken during JU photoshoot at the Curve. And I was the only one with a full body picture. The rest had half body pics and they were all looking at the camera, exept Rhonwyn. Hahahaha. One thing though, I didn't see Sonia in the Editorial Board page.... and the reason? I don't know.

Eventhough '08's magazine was much better than '07, there were a few things which were disappointing to me. One was the magazine wasn't very organized. The candid shots pages were all over the place, one at the waaaaaayyy back of the magazine, one here and another there. I didn't find the last candid page until my magazine dropped and the page I happened to see first was that page. Some of the layouts weren't really nice, but I'm not gonna complain about that, 'cause I know the graphic department was really stressed doing this.

One thing that really disappointed me was the Leo Day page. It was one page, 4 pictures of Matt and Ronalds band, one picture of the entire SMKBU Leo and a big cropped picture of Matt. What disappointed me was that they didn't put anything else. Why 4 pictures of the same band from 4 different angles? What about the rest of the performances (especially SMKBU performers) during the Leo Day? Aaron and Ming Yue's duet? My drum circle? The Boogey Jammaz dance? Nope. Just 4 pictures of the same band. How disappointing. It was kinda like '07's Graduation Day page, 2 of the same pictures and 2 pictures of the same VIP giving a speech.

The class pictures section was also messy. First it was the Form 3's classes, then Form 4, Form 2, Form 3 again, Form 1's, Form 5's and then Form 4's again.

Puteri told me she submitted 5 articles for the article section, but only one was published. Abigail and Tien Mie both had 2 articles published. Why? And my article, full page and nice, but there were a lot typo errors. "My whole family went "tot" the hospital right away." One extra 'T' in 'to'. And "My uncle's therapist looked at him in the coffin and smile". Forgotten the smilED.

So thats all I wanna say. I hope '09 JU will have less mistakes and typo errors.
Good luck to all JU members.

"YES!"
"MAA!"
Say YES to MAA. Say YES to solid financial security.
I'm just being random

Haha-ness.

The first week of school not only was fun, but was also crazy.
I guess mostly crazy.... LoL

We had our annual Rumah Sukan meeting on Friday, which I wanna talk about. As usual we chose the preseident for Yellow House and blah blah blah.... then Cikgu Hafiz announced that whoever doesn't come for the 9 house practices we have will kena whatever and will have to clean the school toilets. Not only did Yellow House teachers say that, Red House and Blue House and well I think.

Now for being in SMKBU for 3 years already, the first few house practices will have a good amount of students... but then after a while most students will stop coming and at least only 20% or so of the students in 1 house will show up, and the oter 80% gone...
Now if 3 houses have the same punishment for not coming for rumah sukan and only about 20% will show up, you have 60% out of 300% would show up... and the 240% of students who don't come have to clean the toilets.... and its like... 200 - 300 or so of students per rumah sukan who will have to clean the toilets... might as well just let the kakak's who clean the toilet take a year break and let the students do the dirty work!!

Please la... do you really think they're gonna make you do that? The most they would do is call those who didn't come for rumah sukan to run maybe 6 rounds around the field. I don't belive they would ask you to clean the toilets.

And what we do in rumah sukan... take attendance twice, warm up, run around the school field a few times and then teachers will mark down your name for a sport in Sports Day. Cik Ng marked me down for 100m and 100mx4 which I don't wanna do... haih... serves me right for joining last year... lol. So I'd better beg her to let me go.... my first excuse was I was on JU duty.... it was a good excuse I thought. Haha. But Cik Ng was like "You give me your camera and I can take your picture for you ok?"

Ok I'll stop here...
But if your scared that teacher is really gonna make you clean toilets, then come for rumah sukan, but if not, then never mind. And if a teacher reads this post I hope I don't kena washing toilets. XD
Its just my opinion on this.

I can't complain, can I?

Well well....

Happy late wishes for the new year from me. =) Hope you readers have a splendid 2009.

Alright, so my first post of the year will be about the first day of school.

Everything was good on thr first day of school. Everything seemed so different compared to last year, or maybe 'cause I haven't stepped foot in school for a while.

We had perhimpunan as usual, Pn Hasni announced that Cik Rafiah and Cik Melathi are gone. Cik Melathi went to teach at SMK Taman Sea, and I don't know about Cik Rafiah. They were nice teachers and I really don't understand why almost everyone didn't like them. @.@ Hmmm.... I'll never know will I?

For me, I have a feeling that 2009 is gonna be a good year. I have advanced class from Bersih to now Amanah. =) Now all I need to do is get to Adil. Heheh. A lot of old Bersihans have also advanced to Amanah, and unfortunately for some, have moved to classes like Gigih and Rajin. We don't have a Yakin class this year... To many students liao. LoL. Wonder how that happened. XD

The other good thing is, 3 Amanah got a lot of the good teachers. We have En Saad for BM, Pn Lily for English, En Govindan for Geo, En Sairul as class teacher, Pn Zaleha for Math and En Baha for Sejarah. Like last year, Pn Chan is our KH teacher. Our last year Math teacher Pn Fardiah is now our Science teacher. I hope, I hope that Pn Fardiah, will be a good Science teacher, 'cause last year, it was a little difficult for me to understand. Probably 'cause the class was to noisy as well. Kinda sad.

I feel bad for teachers who walk into a class and no one listens to them, 'cause its a complete waste of their time to teach a class who doesn't want to learn. Pay some respect for teachers people.... even if you like the teacher or not. Save the chit chat for recess or when theres no teacher in class. XD

So overall today I had fun. Good to be back in school. I'm ready to learn some new stuff... And I'm determined to pass all my subjects and get as many A's as I can. =)

To students: Have high expectations for your studies. If your not so good in studies, study harder and tell yourself your gonna get all A's for the next coming exam. Tell yourself everyday, all A's, and you might just surprise yourself. If your good in studies, help your friend, I'm sure they'll appreciate your help.

To teachers: Teach us well. Reduce stress. Give a fair amount of homework if you must. Concentrate on the students who are weak in the subject you teach. If you concentrate on the not so good ones, they get smarter, and that makes you happy right?? XD

Cheers to a good year everyone.

PS.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAHIDAN!!

HOPE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL/YOUR BIRTHDAY WAS FUN.
